City Reaches Out to CCNA in Recognizing Neighborhoods

Interactive Neighborhood Mep

Following CCNA’s September 6th Member Meeting, the city reached out to the Meaningful Neighborhood Input team to work with them on a revised “Neighborhoods” page for the city’s website. The goal is to “start” identifying our city neighborhoods and highlight the charm and character of our city neighborhoods whether CCNA members or not.

We understand that the city does not have the resources to do a complete revision of their site, so they suggested having links on their webpage to the CCNA website, where our site can highlight the city neighborhoods.  To that end the MNI team worked with Nancy Kelly and redesigned the existing Neighborhoods page.

The prior page had only a reference on how to form a neighborhood association and their two grants.  In working with Nancy, we have added a paragraph on the city’s neighborhoods, a description and link to CCNA’s site, and added a description and links to Sarasota County’s RainCheck and Neighborhood Initiative Grant Programs.  Also added are links to:

The objective is to provide residents with a reliable resource to access the information commonly sought by neighborhoods.

This page is just a starting point. It is now up to the MNI team to work on changes to the CCNA site to complement this and the team will be reaching out to CCNA members to assist.
