Here are a two of the upcoming Public Art events you may want to consider attending:
Downtown Sarasota will glow with creativity on Friday, November 7, as the Public Art Program partners with Ringling College of Art and Design’s Department of Motion Design for Arts on Palm, part of the popular Fresh Fridays series. From 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., students will transform the Palm Avenue Parking Garage into a vibrant digital canvas, using projection mapping technology to animate the building’s sails with light, motion, and color. |
Join artist Alissa Silvers (Liss Design) and your neighbors on Saturday, November 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Arlington Park & Aquatic Complex for a day of creativity and community fun. Participants can help paint sections of Rhapsody in Bloom, the new mural transforming the Lifeguard Headquarters building. Before or after painting, families can enjoy the Kids’ Wellness Fair, featuring inflatables, games, organizations, and activities promoting health and wellness. - Free and open to all ages
- Children 13 and under must be supervised by an adult
- All participants must sign a general waiver and photo release form
- Acrylic paint will be used and may stain clothes – wear play clothes!
