Background: The CCNA Board formed the Meaningful Public Input committee in June 2022 to address the CCNA Strategic Plan Proposal. This proposal outlines the background, intent, action required, and rationale for the assignment. On June 15, 2023, the CCNA Board approved segmenting the project into three legs (City, Neighborhood and Developer).

Neighborhood Leg Goal

Assess each neighborhood’s readiness for meaningful input, and create a program to organize, educate, train, and support those that are not prepared. Establish a framework to include unorganized neighborhood residents.

  • Development Services approved final revisions to the “Guidelines for Effective Development Review by Neighborhoods“, which was posted on website. 
  • Educate neighborhood association leaderships introducing the changes in the development review process and their role interacting with the Case Planner. 
  • Continue to encourage neighborhood associations to identify a “key contact” for the City’s workshop and other notifications and interactions with the development process.

2025 Action Items:

  • Reach out to designated Association contact persons answering any questions they have about the Guidelines.
  • Continue to work with Neighborhood Planner to facilitate the formation of neighborhood associations in all City neighborhoods
  • Design and implement a plan for existing neighborhood associations to “adopt” a non-organized adjacent neighborhood’s residents until that neighborhood is organized.
  • Work with neighborhood leadership on upcoming changes in the development review process.
