Sarasota County Commission (BCC)
The Board of County Commissioners consists of five members who serve staggered four-year terms.
All of CCNA Neighborhoods are in District 2. Commissioner Mark Smith is a regular at our Member Meetings. If your neighborhood has a County related issue reach out to him.
The other County Commissioners: District 1: Teresa Mast, District 3: Tom Knight, District 4: Dr. Joe Neunder and District 5: Ron Cutsinger. The Board of Sarasota County Commissioners may be reached at commissioners@scgov.net.
Advisory Councils and Appointed Boards
There are more than 30 citizen advisory councils and appointed boards with members appointed by the County Commission – over 300 positions in all. Many have designated City of Sarasota appointees. More Information
Neighborhood Services
Neighborhood Services is committed to connecting residents to the resources they need for a thriving neighborhood. Yes, CCNA neighborhoods can register to be recognized by the county. By registering your neighborhood, you make it possible for county staff to contact an association president or other neighborhood leader to give notice regarding:
- Newsletters and Bulletins; Grant Opportunities; Neighborhood Workshops; Comprehensive Plan Amendments; Proposed Rezoning or Special Exceptions; Public Hearings; County Capital Improvement Projects; Disaster Updates and Preparedness; and Targeted outreach on environmental topics such as ponds, preserve areas, and reporting pollution concerns.
