- Business recovery resources available for Sarasota businesses impacted by Hurricane Helene Business Recovery Resources:
- Business Damage Assessment Survey: Florida Commerce and the State Emergency Response Team (SERT) activated the Business Damage Assessment Survey in response to Hurricane Helene. Business owners can self-report physical and economic damage caused by Hurricane Helene. Survey responses will allow the state to expedite Hurricane Helene recovery efforts by gathering data and assessing the needs of impacted businesses. If you need additional assistance with your business, please call the private sector hotline at 850-815-4925, open daily, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or email ESF18@em.myflorida.com.
- Sarasota residents eligible for FEMA disaster assistanceIndividuals in Sarasota County affected by Hurricane Helene are eligible for FEMA disaster assistance. There are 3 ways to apply:
- DisasterAssistance.gov
- Via the FEMA APP
- Call 800-621-3362
- Public asked to avoid Lido Beach to allow recovery efforts to take place
- 𝐋𝐢𝐝𝐨 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡: Please 𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐢𝐝𝐨 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡. Storm recovery efforts are being disrupted by those trying to access the beach. If you do not have to be in the area, please stay away. All amenities at Lido Beach are closed and lifeguards are not on duty. The beach itself may have seen and unseen hazards. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to recover from Hurricane Helene.
- Storm debris collection information When placing storm debris curbside, please adhere to these rules to allow for pickup:
- Do 𝐧𝐨𝐭 use plastic bags
- Separate materials into 𝟑 𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬:
- Vege𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐬
- 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐝 (e.g.: furniture, dry wall and other construction materials)
- 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬 (e.g.: electronics, refrigerators, ranges, washing machines, dryers, water heaters)
Place all materials at least 6-feet away from mailboxes, utility poles, fire hydrants etc., to allow collection equipment to pick up the materials.
