Lou and Richard

At CCNA’s December 7, 2024, Holiday Party, President, Richard Harris presented the 2024 CCNA Neighborhood Award to Lou Costa (left).

From the Neighborhood nomination:

  • No one has committed themself more fully and passionately to helping neighborhoods throughout the city.
  • Demonstrated the ability to think imaginatively and to see the larger picture, always with the goal of improving the city and its neighborhoods.
  • Will nurture almost anything to support neighborhoods with persistence and willingness to go up the mountain, and when necessary to go back up the mountain again to accomplish a goal.
  • Single-minded in focus to move any neighborhood goal closer to and over the goal line, year after year and goal after goal.
  • When hearing of a neighborhood problem is the first to approach that neighborhood, goes on site to understand the issues involved, reaches out to neighborhood leaders, develops an approach to solving the problem, and brings together key decision-makers as part of the process.
  • Contributions range from projects that impact the entire city as well as those particular to an individual neighborhood.
  • Oftentimes contributions are not recognized because the recipient seeks results, not accolades.”

Richard added that the award goes to the person that is often heard to say, “Problem – Solution”.
